Project description
Extension of the harbour, main project was the construction of a breakwater jetty with rock fill and concrete units (dolos).  Also the construction of an inner jetty with rock fill, along with a quay.
Volume: Rocks 400.000 m3, concrete units (dolos) 2.500 pc., 9000 m3, quay length 260 meters.
Location
Þorlákshöfn, a town on the south side of Iceland, where the ferry to Vestmannaeyjar sails from.
Scope of Almenna services
Investigations, design, bid documents and then supervision with the construction in co opration with the danish company Hostrup-Schultz og Sörensen, Dansk Hydraulisk Institut and Fjarhitun hf. Icelandic engineers.
