Traffic management and highway design

Almenna Consulting provides traffic management consulting services at all levels -- from overall planning policy down to local development plans for individual transport structures. Examples of recent projects include traffic management planning for the Reykjanesbraut highway in Kópavogur (City of Kópavogur and the Icelandic Road Administration 2007-2008) and traffic management planning for the highway Hálsbraut (City of Reykjavik, 2008).

Assistance is also available for the design of streets and roads. Examples of recent projects are conceptual design for doubling the road Vesturlandsvegur (Icelandic Road Administration 2008-2009), project design for Hliðarfót (City of Reykjavík 2008-2009), street design for the industrial estate Tungumelar in Mosfellsbær (Ístak 2006-2009) and a survey of the trunk road system in the capital city area (Icelandic Road Administration 2007). One example of older projects is the design of grade-separated junctions for Vesturlandsvegur, Vikurvegur and Suðurlandsvegur.
