Groundwater & pollution studies

Almenna Consulting personnel have done groundwater studies in Iceland for many years, the most extensive surveys being undertaken in Reykjavnes, Tungnaáröræfi, the lower section of þjórsár, Ölfus and Skaftá. Pollution studies are also groundwater studies to some extent. Pollution studies have concentrated particularly on oil and PCB contamination at Keflavík Airport following the withdrawal of the US forces stationed there and research on pollution in the Reykjavík Harbour shipyard and the oil dispatch centre in Laugarnes.
